Rockband 101

Sean Patrick REALLY likes the drums. He has a hand drum and has also taken a big interest in Daddy's Rockband drum kit. Sigh.

Elmo Chair...on the couch

We got Sean Patrick this Elmo chair a few months ago and he recently started carrying it over to the couch and putting it ON the couch. He's also starting using mom's water bottle.

When Sean Patrick sees the camera, he tilts his head. So here's the I-see-the-camera-so-I'm-tilting-my-head pose:

Sean Patrick really likes to play with the slide he got from the Easter bunny...

Bubble Mania

This is what Sean Patrick wanted to wear today:

It's 75 degrees.

And then he wanted to run through bubbles. What a life!

Just another day in sunny California...

Sean Patrick has been playing outside everyday since he got his little house from the Easter bunny. He loves to open and close the door, over and over and over and...

cat carrier

Um, Sean Patrick really likes to sit in the cat carrier. We had it out since Kolohe has been going to the vet once a week and SP has started climbing in it for fun. Okie dokie!

Splashing and Bubbles

We had a nice warm day after many days of rain and cold weather so we took advantage of it. SP was so excited to play with his water table...

And then Daddy brought out the bubble machine!

Teamwork

Because of the Station Fire, we saw Uncle, Auntie and Dylan for an overnight visit. We brought some of SP's toys and the cousins exhibited some great teamwork in playing with it. Dylan would turn the knobs to open up the little doors and SP would close the doors. They did this for a while, it entertained them greatly!

On the way home, SP was out like a light while Pekona stayed alert in the front seat:

Madelyn's 1st bday party

Sean Patrick had a great time at Maddy's 1st bday party! Maddy went to take a nap before we could get a snap of the kids together but here are a few pics from the party:

Sean Patrick LOVED the water table, he spent most of the party here.

We were having a fun time but had to leave early to pack our bags and head out...the Station Fire was this close to our house so we decied to get out of town for the night, the smoke in the air was terrible.

More Classical Baby

Sean Patrick LOVES Classical Baby, the show we introduced him to when he about 2 months old. Lately, he wants to get as close to the screen as possible.

Sometimes I think he's attempting to crawl into the TV!

Pop-Up Toy

Sean Patrick has been loving this toy lately. It's where little characters are seen when the little doors pop open - ours features farm animals and a farmer. He's figured out how to open the yellow one which is open with a switch (like a light switch) but his favorite is to shut all the little doors. He does not get tired of it. We open them, he closes them. Over and over and over.

Pancakes, the Park and Katsuya

Today was one of those perfect family days - good food, carefree day and fun times.

We started the day with blueberry pancakes. The mini ones are for Sean Patrick:

He is still not coordinated enough to pick things up and precisely get them in his mouth. We are at a grab-and-stuff-into-mouth situation...sometimes he gets things in his mouth, but mostly not. Here he is planning his attack...

Daddy ends up giving him a hand to get some in his mouth:

Then we headed over to Americana on Brand in Glendale. It's an outdoor mall with a lovely plaza area. The plaza has nice, shaded grassy areas plus a kids playground. It also has a lovely fountain where water dances to synchronized music once an hour.

Ok truth: I picked this location because I know that dogs are not allowed on the plaza at Americana on Brand. I wanted Sean Patrick's first experience on grass to be dog pee and poop free :)

Sean Patrick really liked the grass. At first, he didn't know what to make of it. It seemed that he was unsure if he could crawl on it but he tested the waters and then he was off. You'll see in this video that at the very end, the water show starts at the fountain (to his left) so that's what he's looking at the end:

While we were at Americana on Brand, we stopped in at Mommy's favorite sushi place...Katsuya. The best Katsuya location is the original one in Studio City, this one we went to in Glendale is "Katsuya by Stark" - a fancy-pants version of the original.

Sean Patrick was not fazed by the fancy-pants restaurant. He dropped his puffs on the floor like he was at home and played fetch with his water bottle and the waiters (he even charmed the people at the next table to pick up his water bottle).

Sean Patrick chowed down on his puffs while Mommy had her all-time favorite Katsuya dish, crispy rice with spicy tuna (while Daddy enjoyed a Kobe cheeseburger):




SP had a ball!
