New Years Eve BBQ 2009

The annual BBQ party for New Year's Eve at Grandpa's house was smaller this year without Uncle Matt's family and friends but good food and great company made for a very fun night.

I went to bed at 8pm so I missed most of the big fireworks. Nothing woke me up, I slept through the night even with fireworks going off all night.

Dinner at the Hibbards

We had dinner at Christian & Ernessa's after our trip to get away from the smoke of the Station Fire. We forgot to put a bib for Sean Patrick in the diaper bag so he borrowed one of little Betty's girly bibs...although there was a bow in the middle we like to think of as a manly bow tie.

The funniest thing happened. While we were eating, Sean Patrick got a little fussy but as soon as we pulled the camera out, he smiled the sweetest smile like this:

Needless to say, we took a lot of pictures during dinner. But SP really just wanted to get down and play with the Hibbard's dog, Tulip.

Teamwork

Because of the Station Fire, we saw Uncle, Auntie and Dylan for an overnight visit. We brought some of SP's toys and the cousins exhibited some great teamwork in playing with it. Dylan would turn the knobs to open up the little doors and SP would close the doors. They did this for a while, it entertained them greatly!

On the way home, SP was out like a light while Pekona stayed alert in the front seat:

Madelyn's 1st bday party

Sean Patrick had a great time at Maddy's 1st bday party! Maddy went to take a nap before we could get a snap of the kids together but here are a few pics from the party:

We were having a fun time but had to leave early to pack our bags and head out...the Station Fire was this close to our house so we decied to get out of town for the night, the smoke in the air was terrible.

The boys had their third playdate at a park in La Canada.

Disneyland 2.0

Our second trip to Disneyland was much more successful than the first and a lot of fun. Sean Patrick rode on Pinocchio, Roger Rabbit and Peter Pan. The lines were long but SP had fun people watching and chomping on Cherrios as we waited for our turn.

And then out like a light before as we were walking out (he lasted 2.5 hours this trip)...

More Classical Baby

Sean Patrick LOVES Classical Baby, the show we introduced him to when he about 2 months old. Lately, he wants to get as close to the screen as possible.

Sometimes I think he's attempting to crawl into the TV!

Another milestone...self-feeding

SP now prefers to feed himself :) He's getting more and more accurate with every bite. Here he is with his "appetizer" of puffs, peas and carrots:

So this was a major FAIL on the first attempt at salmon...

We'll need to give him some time to forget this experience before we give it a whirl again.

For this meal, we used the Happy Baby brand of organic baby food from Whole Foods called Super Salmon (it's a double pack, complimented by Regular Prunes). It's in the freezer section. Here are the ingredients for the Super Salmon: organic potato, organic sweet potato, organic carrots, organic french lentils, wild salmon and organic coconut oil. Sounds good but it was still a major fail :)

Pirates far from the Caribbean

Sean Patrick got a souvenir headband from Daddy after a night out celebrating a friend's birthday at Pirate Adventure (happy bday Uncle Mike!).

He thought it was very funny to have it on.

Spaghetti!!

Daddy whipped up some alphabet pasta especially for Sean Patrick on spaghetti night at the Boland house. He loved it!
