The last couple of weeks, Sean Patrick has finally started to crawl. Unfortunately, it was backwards. From a seated position, he'd fall forward onto his hands and then start scooting backwards. We took to calling him "Michael Jackson" since it was more or less a "moonwalk" he was doing... More of a "moon crawl" I guess. It often ended up with him "moon crawling" his butt under the couch at then getting stuck, since he had no concept of going forward. It was also good for us since he would be like a Roomba vacuum and get stuck in the same circle on the play rug.
In the last few days, he's figured out forward. It was mostly to crawl across the play rug to the dog and then harass him by pulling on his leash (Pekona has been bad lately so he's been secured to his "place"), as seen in the following video. Please note at the end, he returns to his "moon crawl" for a brief moment to get to the fireplace.
I apologize that these videos aren't up to par with fancy editing and title cards. I'm really wanting to get to bed since I'm playing Mr. Mom for the next few days.
Today, he followed me. I went to the kitchen to start preparing his breakfast, and he crawled after me. His real intention becomes obvious at the end of the video, but I was on the ball with the video camera to capture his first crawl from the play rug to the dining room.
Yes, he was really going for the jumperoo. I was living the dream that the boy wanted to be with me. Oh well, next time.
