Outer Space or Bust

The Jet Propulsion Labratory (a part of NASA) located a couple miles from our house had an open-house of their facility this weekend. We headed down there with Auntie Mia and Uncle Shawn bright and early - we wanted to be there for the opening at 9am since had to leave by noon to attend a baby shower.

We got there and proceeded to stand in a few long lines. Mommy and Daddy took turns checking out the exhibits: RoboDome (where they demonstrated 800lb robots that floated on air the width of a single human hair), Mission Control (just like it sounds) and Space Craft Assembly(where they build things like the Mars Rover pictured below).

Sean Patrick ended up falling asleep half-way through :) He did get a globe beach ball from the gift shop with cities that glow in the dark - score! We look forward to catching more of the action next year.

Calling the Shots

The whole Boland clan headed down to Background Images to check out a version of Stealth Wall (among other cool video gear) since we're using it for a proposal. While there, we got a tour and Sean Patrick seemed to like sitting in the Lighting Director chair in their biggest mobile production unit:

For reference, here's the truck and the interior (SP was sitting at that brown counter):

Here's SP helping Dad demonstrate the WinVision wall...you can see through the wall until...

...there's graphic in front of it. So cool!
